December 7, 2008
I will have an ovarian cyst removed on tomorrow December 8, 2008.
My doctor, a female tumor specialist will attempt a minimally invasive procedure and remove it though a small hole. Although it is the size of a small watermelon he will attempt to remove it using microsurgery. I think he might have to open me up, but it would be far better if he doesn’t have to. I am hoping to come through it well so I can begin chemo and radiation in preparation for the main surgery on my colon cancer.
My doctors whom are all cancer specialists have never seen something this size or this aggressive after having a negative scope two years ago.
Please keep me in your prayers.
Randy’s Note:
I am an avid cyclist and had worked out consistently for a couple of years when Terri and I went on a strenuous hike this last summer. Even though I was in the best shape of my life and she hadn’t been doing much I was shocked because I could out hike her. I immediately knew she should get to the doctor ASAP. She is a hiker and walker that once she gets her health back I know I will never be able to keep up with her no matter what shape I am in!
But the best outcome we can hope for is a year or so of painful procedures and treatment for her. The post operative chemo and radiation for this type of cancer is severe when we get started on this in the middle of next year and I ask that you keep Terri and me in your prayers.
Thanks again for everything.
